Interaction and Activity

Another section of your LinkedIn profile is titled activity. I have grouped it together with Interests because I believe they both fall under the same category and should be treated with the same thought process.

Activity on LinkedIn is pretty self-explanatory, it is the activity that LinkedIn tracks of you interacting with topics and other LinkedIn users.

This is yet another opportunity to express your interest and build up your professional social profile. Interact with topics that interest you and companies that operate in the industries that you are applying for placement roles within.

Follow the topics and sub-topics, interact in groups and generally just go about learning through LinkedIn. This will all show up on your profile and will further build that image you are trying to present.

Alongside this, interact with colleagues and friends. Simple congratulations comments when someone in your network secures a new role. Encourage people and you will be rewarded for your efforts!

Can I post myself?

Yes! And you should!

Post about new roles that you have secured and your excitement about different developments within the workplace.

Post about seminars and presentations you attend that really spoke to you.

Thank professors and guest speakers for their time and show that you were attentive during those sessions and opportunities where many students attend for the sake of attending.

By no means do you need to post everyday, just a little update here and there will do wonders.
